Supporting English-related teaching and learning at all levels

UKLA Conference Offer

The  UKLA National Conference, which this year is about Writing for Pleasure, will take place on Saturday 28 March at Canterbury Christ Church University.

It’s set to be an amazing and unique day of sharing, learning and networking opportunities, with highly regarded writers and practitioners leading a series of workshops and children’s authors David Almond and Piers Torday offering their perspectives as writers.

You will learn how to teach writing effectively, respond to children’s affective needs, foster enjoyment around writing and create communities of writers, amongst other things!

There will be bookshops, book signings and an exhibition from the British Library showcasing their new free-to-access resource ‘Discovering Children’s Books’. Lunch is included and there’ll be a goodie bag for everyone!

This conference is aimed at teachers, headteachers, student teachers, and teacher trainers. It has been organised by Rebecca Austin of Canterbury Christ Church University and Ross Young of Writing Rocks.

Places are now quite limited so until Friday 20 March we are offering tickets at the discounted membership rate of £75 when you book two or more places.

You can book online here or email us conferences@ukla.org for more information.
